Students in all year groups sit the end of year examinations. These, together with Progress Reviews, enable the school to assess progress throughout the year. The information collected helps to place students in the correct teaching groups for the following year. In addition, Year 9 students sit examinations in non-core subjects during the spring term.

How we achieve excellence

Students are entered for GCSE examinations with four examination boards:

  • OCR
  • AQA
  • WJEC
  • Edexcel

(depending on the subject being examined)

Further information may be found on the examination board websites:

Year 11 students sit mock exams in November each year, and revision sessions take place in the lead up to the GCSE examinations.
