Physical Education and Games are taught to all students in years 7 - 11. The P.E. department aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum that will enable students to develop their playing ability in a range of sports as well as fostering an awareness of a healthy lifestyle.

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.

We have many students who have represented the county in sports such as football, cross country, hockey, rugby, table tennis and swimming; a number have competed at a national level in sports such as diving, athletics and sailing.

The School is fortunate to have facilities within its own grounds for many sports, and also makes use of many excellent local off-site facilities including Bitterne Leisure Centre, Places Leisure Centre, Trojans Hockey, Southampton University and Red Lodge Swimming Pools and the Ski Slope at Southampton Alpine Centre. Co-Curricular Sports has a big presence at The Gregg also, for more information on the optional sports we have to offer, take a look at our Sports Clubs page and our Sports Handbook.
