Pupil Wellbeing & Support

Pupil Wellbeing

Pupil wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at The Gregg Preparatory School. This is made possible by having small class sizes where not just their form teacher, but all teachers and support staff get to know the children really well.

Children are encouraged to voice their views and bring up any concerns to teachers and in School Council and Eco-Committee meetings.

Pupils understand our school behaviour policy and we have a reward system to celebrate both hard work and good behaviour.

We use the Jigsaw PSHE scheme of work which is designed around pupil wellbeing and we have three trained Designated Safeguarding Leads who support the pupils and staff inside and outside of school. Our trained ELSAs are also able to support individual children when the need arises.

Children who require additional support may be offered either group or one-to-one intervention for an agreed period of time.

Student Support

As a small school, The Gregg Prep is able to support only a limited number of children with Special Educational Needs. On application, please highlight the needs of your child so that we can advise regarding being able to resource to your child’s requirements.

Children who have SEN needs are highlighted to our SENCo who will set up an Individual Education Plan. This is agreed by the teacher in discussion with the SENCo, and teaching assistants may be allocated to support the child. This could be in-class or out-of-class support.
