Welcome From The Headteacher
The Gregg School is a co-educational independent school for girls and boys aged 11-16, with a roll of approximately 350 students. Founded in the city in 1901, we are a member of both the Independent Schools Association and the Independent Schools Council.
The school is set in 23 acres of stunning parkland, serene woodland, heritage buildings and gardens where classrooms are not defined by walls. Our learning community provides a passionate and caring environment where every single member of our school feels valued, enriched and able to achieve their personal best. Our family atmosphere fosters confidence, high levels of academic challenge and a truly holistic education that enables an excellent preparation for adult life.
Students have access to a broad and exciting curriculum, taught by a superb, engaged staff that serve to challenge and inspire at every level. A wealth of GCSE options enable our students to engage and refine their interests and our emphasis on experiential, enriching activities serves to broaden young minds.
The Gregg has an outstanding reputation for personalising learning where our time and attention rests with deep pastoral knowledge of our students, enabling their complete development as individuals. Our expectations are high and great value is placed on students' development of aspiring learning habits, respectful behaviour and high levels of personal and social skills.
We take time to understand and encourage individuals and provide them with every opportunity to develop into healthy well-qualified, self-aware adults who are ambitious for their futures.
The atmosphere in our school is calm, happy, positive and humorous – we would be delighted for you to visit us and experience this first-hand.
